Wild Flower Trilogy was one of the weirder voice projects in the best way. The world is darker and more cinematic than the commercial reads I was doing, so I had a lot more room to play with character and tone.

I experimented with a lower, creepier register for parts of the narration and tried to think less about sounding “nice” and more about what the scene actually needed. That shift was rlly fun because the voice could become part of the atmosphere instead of simply explaining what was happening.

I like projects that make me use a part of my voice I would not normally reach for. It feels a little uncomfortable at first, and then suddenly you find something interesting in it.

Behind the role

I got to move away from my normal commercial tone and treat the microphone more like a character tool, playing with texture, darkness, and restraint.

01

Character voice

I experimented with a lower and darker vocal register to match the world and mood of the story.
02

Narration

I recorded voice material designed to support the visual storytelling rather than overpower it.
03

Tone exploration

We tested how pacing and texture could make the same words feel eerie, grounded, or more cinematic.

What stayed with me

Voice acting gets way more interesting when you stop worrying about sounding pretty and start worrying about sounding right.
